A wide range of materials and types of containers is used for seeds. The types of materials and containers suitable for vapour-proof storage were discussed in seed storage. Some seed stocks are kept for relatively long periods in controlled storage before placing them in vapour-proof containers. Other seeds, especially the relatively bulky species in Leguminosae, are distributed by TECHPARK without vapour-proof packaging.

The range of materials used by TECHPARK for containers and packages includes burlap ( a coarse canvas), paper (bleached sulphate and bleached Kraft papers are both used), polythene, hessian (usually known as gunny bags), aluminium foil, tinfoil and tin-plate.

The quantity of seeds and size of container of packet are usually adjusted according to the seed market or customized by TECHPARK's consumers, for instance relatively small quantities in packets for the amateur or private gardeners. The exact quantity may be adjusted to potential germination, purity and the selling price per packet. For professional growers the quantity is usually in units of a gram or kilogram.

TECHPARK has very sophisticated packaging lines in warehouses which are capable of automatically filling containers by machines, delivering pre-determined quantities of seeds and applying labels to the packets.

The label on a seed package is the normal way of immediately identifying the contents. Labelling systems used in seed stores and for warehousing usually conform to the system devised for the TECHPACK's stock book.
Labelling for the market usually has to meet the legal requirements in China in which the seeds are to be marketed and includes information conforming to certification schemes. TECHPARK also provide additional information according to our customers. The following information may therefore be put on labels:

·Name of TECHPARK and trade-marks.
·Species and cultivar name.
·Year of packaging and year of havesting.
·Seed quality including germination, purity, moisture and cleanness, then statement regarding noxious weed seeds etc.
·Seed treatments (e.g. Thirm treatment with green dye of watermelon seeds).
·Batch number or Lot no. (this will give the TECHPARK immediate reference to the seed-lot in any subsequent enquiry or complaint).
·Sole distributor or locate dealer.

Packages for the amateur or private market usually have a pictorial label which gives an indication of the species and cultivar's characters. In addition basic cultural information may be added such as sowing date, husbandry methods, including frequency of successional sowings. Where TECHPARK export to several different counties some of this information is presented diagrammatically or in several languages.
